Before you install the UiPath Citrix extension on the client machine you need to deploy the UiPath Remote Runtime component on all your Citrix App servers. The
UiPathRemoteRuntime.msi installer is obtained by contacting our Support Team.
The UiPath Remote Runtime component is required to establish the connection between the Citrix App server and the UiPath Citrix Extension on the client machine. In order to install it, you need to do the following:
- Contact our Support Team to obtain the
- Install the UiPath Remote Runtime on the Citrix servers on which you want to create your automation projects.
- Log off from the current Citrix window session on the client machine and log back in. This is done for the new changes to take effect.
After you install the UiPath Remote Runtime component on the target Citrix servers, you need to log out of the Citrix window session and log back in for changes to take effect.
The last step in this Citrix automation method is to install the UiPath Citrix extension as explained on this page.
You can now create processes to automate on Citrix XenApp environments just as you would on a standard machine. Because of the corresponding extension, OCR and Image recognition activities are no longer required to properly identify UI elements. Instead, elements are natively recognized and can be used with any activity.
You can still use the Citrix Image automation as before. Moreover, processes created with OCR and Image recognition activities are not affected by the Citrix XenApp support.
